One injured during fireworks safety demonstration

A demonstration on the dangers of fireworks became a reality Tuesday when a fire official was injured during the presentation. Members of the Cook County Fire Chiefs Association were demonstrating fireworks safety procedures when a canister tipped over and fireworks shot into the crowd of fire officials and media, said Michael Kuryla, president of the Cook County Fire Chiefs Association and Fire Chief of Hillside.
